What we plan
Engagements
Two engagement shapes, each scoped to a single budgeting or working-capital question and closed when that question has a defensible answer.
Two engagement shapes
Every engagement starts from one question you bring — a hiring choice, a price change, a repayment schedule — and is scoped to that question. We do not sell open-ended retainers. The two shapes below cover most of what small businesses ask us to plan.
Single-question memo
A short, focused engagement built around one decision. We read the ledgers that bear on the question, draft a working file, and deliver a planning memo with the number and the trade-offs.
- One specific budgeting or working-capital question
- Ledger review scoped to that question only
- A planning memo and the working file, handed over in a usable format
- One review session to correct the assumptions
Full planning file
A wider engagement that builds the four working areas — budget structure, working-capital cycle, cash buffer and runway, and decision support — into one planning file you can run against.
- Budget rebuilt from your actual ledgers, fixed and variable costs separated
- Working-capital cycle mapped to your real terms with inventory, receivables and payables
- A payroll-cushion target and a runway number tied to your outflow rhythm
- A decision-support memo for the question that started the engagement
How scope and fees are set
Scope is set on the intake call, against the question you bring. Fees depend on the ledger work the question requires, not on a package label. We confirm the fee in writing, ahead of any work starting, and the engagement ends when the planning file is delivered and reviewed.
What these engagements are not
We are a planning practice, not an accounting firm. We do not file taxes, sign off on audited statements, or act as a registered financial adviser. Where your question requires a licensed accountant or a regulated financial adviser, we flag it on the intake call and point you to one.
